Asbestos and Lung Cancer Awareness Month November
Oct 18, 2022

One of the most aggressive forms of Lung Cancer is Mesothelioma, and with Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November, it is important to educate ourselves on the dangers of asbestos. Mesothelioma is a form of lung cancer that is diagnosed too often in labor-based occupations, due to the exposure risks of asbestos. Electricians are greatly at risk for mesothelioma due to the abundance of asbestos in commonly handled items, such as cable wraps, turbines, generators, electrical shielding, electrical paper, heating units, hot water tanks, plastic panels, insulation and various forms of adhesives, glue and tape. With remodeling and new laws coming to fruition about asbestos abatement, chances of exposure is even higher. Below is a guide about electricians safety with asbestos, which covers:

• Electricians and Mesothelioma
• Legal Options for Electricians
• Types of Benefits
• What Products Contain Asbestos
• Which Manufacturers Used Asbestos and When
• Free 1-on-1 Support

North Carolina is also the 12th ranked state in the country when it comes to asbestos exposure and mesothelioma deaths, and you can read more about it here: https://www.asbestos.com/states/north-carolina/

The team at The Mesothelioma Center is readily available to us if any of us need help. Please do not hesitate to reach out to them at any point with questions or concerns.
