We are excited to announce that Local 379 is making available to our Members and their families, NEW Voluntary Income & Medical Expense Protection Coverages, through the Association of Skilled Trade and Transportation Unions (ASTTU).
There are no medical exams, questions or underwriting required to enroll in the benefits being offered to Local 379 Members! Actively working Members are Guaranteed Approved to enroll in any or all these benefits:
Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, and Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance.
These supplemental benefits help protect your paycheck from financial gaps if you can’t work due to injuries, illnesses, surgeries, mental health conditions, substance abuse treatment, or death. This group plan is an easy, affordable way to protect your income and financial well-being. These voluntary benefits pay in addition to other benefits you may receive.
Thursday 4/10 at 4pm ET you should have received an email from our online enrollment and information portal “UNION HUB”. This email included your Unique Enrollment ID, to ensure a fast and secure online experience.
What you need to know about these NEW benefits:
- Benefits pay in addition to/stack on top of other benefits you may receive, to protect more of your lost income.
- There are NO medical tests or questions when you enroll; you cannot be declined.
- Monthly costs are collected via a secure ACH transfer from your personal account on the day(s) you select.
- No long-term commitment, you can cancel or reduce coverages at any time.
- Tax-free benefits, paid directly to you or your beneficiary.
- There are no group participation requirements; actively working Members electing to enroll will be covered by the ASTTU Plan.
